Picture three age 70+ siblings who live in IL, ND, and AZ. They converge in Chicago to deal with 4,000 square feet of machinery, tools, catalogs, products, and several tons of paper documents that have been accumulating there for over 50 years. The building needs to be empty in two months. It's an organizational nightmare (confidential? family treasure? recycle? So many decisions, so much detail!). What's the hardest part? For us, it was getting started. Caroline was a godsend. Her suggestions, encouragement, respectfulness, and hard work were exactly what we needed. We are cleaning out and organizing belongings from a house filled with multiple lifetimes' worth of belongings and memorabilia following a death in the family. We accomplished more in the 4 hours Jenny spent with us than we had in several weeks of working on it! She helped us figure out where to start and focus and helped us categorize lots of items and papers. At the same time, she was respectful and sensitive about sentimental items.I highly recommend Chaos to Order if you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed by an organization or purging project.
