Organizing Magazines: Digital and Paper Solutions

Do you have a never ending stream of magazines making their way into your space causing clutter and chaos? It's so easy to subscribe and find new magazines and articles you'd like to read, but how do you manage the continuous organization of it all? Do you have a system for keeping track of, not only which magazines you have, but what you want to read and save within? Or do you just let them stack up and randomly purge? The problem with not having a good clear system is that anything important, that might have been on your reading list, can get lost.  Here are some solutions to getting magazines organized:Deciding to go digital is definitely the best remedy if you want to eliminate the paper pile-up. If you are willing to view all magazines digitally, we love the app Texture. For a low monthly subscription, you get access, on all of your devices, to hundreds of magazines and even to years of back issues. It's a definite clutter reducer! Here's a link to a 30-day free trial: https://refer.texture.com/share/ahgh2dormify_di_frisco_magazine_holderIf, on the other hand, you just love the "paperness" of the actual magazine (and I know many Chaos To Order clients who do) there still are good solutions. Use a magazine organizer like the one pictured from Dormify. Its' a great way to "limit" your magazine intake. Decide how many will fit in the organizer, and then save only the amount you commit to i.e. 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years ok, stop now! When you've made a clear decision as what magazines and how many issues you want to save, as new issues come in, toss the oldest. It only takes a little bit of planning, but it will save plenty of time and energy when it comes to keeping everything in order. We maintain "subscription libraries" for several Chaos To Order clients. The organizer creates a list of all the magazines and periodicals that come in, then the client tells us how many issues they want to save. We keep the list handy whenever we return for regular organizing maintenance, we update the system and keep it all organized. If you're buried under a pile of magazines and need to implement a good organizational system, schedule an appointment with your Chaos To Order organizer today!
