How to Manage your Time Wisely While Watching the Olympics
The Olympic games are officially in full swing. They're so exciting and fun to watch, but be careful--you can get swept away with the games and other pending priorities in your life can get put off. Here are some simple solutions to make sure you catch what you want and leave the rest.Plan it out. Know what events you really must see and write down the day and time they are on--check broadcasting schedules to know whether you can see it live or taped and get it on your calendar. Befriend your DVR and watch events you really want to see on your time. Watching live is great, but plenty of time is wasted with tons of commercials and stories that surround the events. With a DVR, you're in charge of what you want to see.Multi-task. I don't often recommend multi-tasking because it lessens your productivity, but when it comes to watching the Olympics, there's plenty you can do while waiting for the actual event to happen and even during it. Keep your laptop handy and work on projects you've been putting off, or have a few loads of laundry ready to be folded and sorted :-)Set Boundaries. Don't keep the games on in the background as your working–they will certainly distract you and inhibit your productivity. Turn the Olympics off and watch only what you had planned on. Keeping good boundaries will help to make your day, as a whole, much more efficient. Finally, enjoy the games!
