Friday Favorite: Organized Charging Station

Do you have a tangled mess of electronics and cords at your bedside table? Most of us don't stray too far from our mobile devices while we sleep. They may be used as an alarm clock or a wake up call in case of emergency. So how do you store your phone and other electronic devices? I prefer a bedside table with drawers because there is so much more storage in a drawer versus an open table, not to mention it looks much neater too.The backside of the drawers has an outlet port which is pretty cool. If you're table doesn't have this, you can also drill a hole in the back or fish an extension cord up from behind. I pulled a power strip into the drawer and attached it to the side of the drawer with velcro.  Then I cut a piece of foam board to fit the bottom of the drawer and attached grey velvet to the foam board with staples (or you can use glue)  to help keep electronics from getting scratched up and also to keep the noise down when putting things in the drawer. It's a great solution so the devices can charge and the drawer can be closed with all the cords hidden inside.I also have my kids turn in their phones/devices at night, so this is a perfectly organized place for everything to rest while we do the same!
